Krissy started her dance career in Salsa but soon succumbed to the magical moods of Tango After Dark. Krissy has enormous scope to her teaching having helped absolute beginners, including the distinguished Governor General of Australia, lectured on Tango to the National and International Dance Teachers Associations, at the important UKA National Congress, where Paul and Krissy’s definitive technique for Tango, Milonga and Vals has been adopted for professional teacher's qualification examinations, and she has taught in Buenos Aires at the beautiful and iconic Cafe Tortoni. Krissy has a particular affinity with beginners making classes and personal lessons a gentle but fun learning experience while more experienced dancers benefit from her clarity, precision and attention to those little details that define an excellent dancer (and an excellent teacher!). Krissy indulges her other passion as co-founder of Coleccion La Recoleta, sole official UK distributor of the world famous, limited edition, designer Tango shoes.
ABOUT TANGO
Following a resurgence of interest in the closing years of the twentieth century, Tango has become one of the world’s most exciting and popular dances. New composers and musical styles have attracted and inspired new dancers to revitalise Tango, enriching its classic and much loved Argentinean themes.
Short sets or tandas ensure that the music programme is varied and it’s normal to enjoy dancing each tanda with different partners, making Tango a seriously fun and friendly social experience.
